In SketchUp, the Composition Guides options allow you to display various types of composition lines or grids in the 3D Viewport to help you compose your scene.
Here is a list of the Compositing Guides options available:
- Rule of Thirds
- Center
- Cross
- Diagonal
- Golden Ratio
- Phi Grid
- Triangle A
- Triangle B
- Harmony
- Triangle A
- Triangle B
You can also change the camera Aspect Ratio between the following
- Match Viewport
- 16:9 - Widescreen
- 1:1 - Square
- 4:3 - Picture
- 5:4 - Landscape
- 4:5 - Portrait
- 3:2 - Landscape
- 2:3 - Portrait
- 1:1.618 - Golden Ratio (Landscape)
- 1.618:1 - Golden Ratio (Portrait)
The buttons on the top affect the SketchUp pages
- Trash button - This will delete all your SketchUp pages/scenes
- Minus button - Remove the current page/scene
- Plus button - Add a new scene with a user-specified name
- Left-arrow button - Move to the page on the left
- Right-arrow button - Move to the page on the right
After installing the extension restart SketchUp and then try running the tool.
- Extensions > i3D > Composition Guides > Activate
